Someone had recommended to me that I start meditating a couple of years ago when I was basically the most stressed out I had ever been. It sounded like a great idea and I said in my mind that I would try, but ironically I never had time for it…at least that was my excuse. I was also very skeptical on how doing something so simple as watching our breath could help. Thanks again for everything you did both upfront and behind the scenes to make the Mexico retreat happen. The time there seems both distant because it was so refreshingly distinct from NYC routine and also close to mind and heart because the company, activities, food and opportunity for reflection so dearly appreciated, their residual warmth still felt in moments of indifference and stress. I also want to reiterate the sense on numerous occasions, in park slope classes and even more strongly on the retreat, of how the spiritual inspiration during class seems aimed directly at me. A selfish feeling for sure, but hopefully one that every yogi and yogini has felt despite any and all efforts to tap into an inspiring group dynamic.
