Bodhisattva Yoga

Color Key
Blue-coded classes are the perfect settings for inquiry and breakdown to grow in your practice. Expect demonstrations and assists from Vivekan and Jess, depending upon the group’s and/or individuals’ needs.

Purple-coded classes are led-flows and the perfect setting to apply what you learn in the Basics through Intermediate Flow levels. Minimal demonstrations and assists are given to keep the flow uninterrupted and fluid. Escape in your breath, form and bliss!

KSHANTI (BASICS I)
For newcomers to yoga; sets a foundation & introduction to vinyasa (flowing) yoga — even if you feel stiff & inflexible. :) A perfect forum for inquiry, breakdown, demonstrations and assists. Kshanti is Sanskrit for patience/tolerance.

VIRYA (BASICS II)
We playfully explore stronger basics level material that prepares the body, and mind, to blossom into SHILA level. A perfect forum for inquiry, breakdown, demonstrations and assists. KSHANTI experience encouraged. Virya is Sanskrit for enthusiastic effort/diligence.

SHILA (INTERMEDIATE FLOW)
For those established in KSHANTI and VIRYA, who are prepared for a progression into more challenging sequences & asanas (poses), and seated meditation. A perfect forum for inquiry, breakdown, demonstrations and assists. VIRYA experience encouraged. Shila is Sanskrit for ethical discipline.

SATI (Invitation-Only, Advanced-Level)
Sati is Sanskrit for mindfulness. This invitation-only, Advanced-level class will theme around the exploration of difficult asanas and transitional movements. Additionally, the invitee will enjoy philosophical quotes, bandhas, exploring pranayama and developing heightened mindfulness in seated meditation. Inquire about obtaining invitation.

ANANDA (OPEN FLOW)
Based on mixed-level, led flows, this is the yogin’s answer to a pre-party special: upbeat music & energizing, with minimal instruction. VIRYA experience encouraged. Ananda is Sanskrit for joy/bliss.

ASANA, PRANAYAMA, DHARANA
Start the week off right… In Sanskrit, Asana, Pranayama, and Dharana respectively translate into posture, breath-work, and mental placement. Although we encourage cultivating these 3 yogic limbs in all of our classes, this special class is for anyone enthusiastic to explore pranayama and dharana in greater depth.  Here, we will open our practice with asana flows that will stimulate the body and mind, and that lend to sitting comfortably enough to immerse ourselves into ample breath-work & meditation practice. VIRYA experience encouraged.

BODHISATTVA FLOW
Our signature class! Open-level flows, and seated meditation; classes are themed around a unique yogic aspiration. A led-flow with minimal demonstrations and assists to keep the flow uninterrupted and fluid. VIRYA experience encouraged. Bodhisattva is Sanskrit for an enlightening being intent on helping others overcome pervasive dissatisfaction, and realize their enlightened nature.

DHANA (CALM FLOW)
Jess’ mid-week blend of mellow flows designed to de-stress mind and body with the aid of slow jams, aromatherapy, and a restorative pose here and there. Sun salutations, balancing poses and mild inversions get the body warm to settle comfortably into powerful, deeply relaxing postures. A led-flow with minimal demonstrations and assists to keep the flow uninterrupted and fluid. KSHANTI experience encouraged. Dhana is Sanskrit for generosity/giving.

INSPIRED FLOWSTM
Vivekan’s blend of spontaneous, energizing flows. This class offers little instruction and often dabbles into strong SHILA, and sometimes SATI (our up-and-coming Advanced Invitational class) material. Sati is Sanskrit for mindfulness. SHILA experience encouraged.

SURYA (OPEN FLOW)
Surya is Sanskrit for sun. Rise and shine the right way with energizing sun salutations, a brief meditative seat, and deep relaxation. Attend to the day more centered, refreshed, and rocking the post-yoga glow. VIRYA experience suggested.

WHAT ARE EXPRESS CLASSES? These are perfect for practitioners on the go that want a briefer though still comprehensive practice session.

Kindly Note: Classes composed of 3 (or less) students are privates! :) Sessions will be up to 60 minutes long.
